We are fundraising for Code Blue & Transportation Missions.
AHTN transports our homeless guests to 30 houses of worship in Lower Bucks every month. That means that the homeless in our area can eat a good nutritious meal almost every night of the month. AHTN is running this mission all year long. Our buses traveled 13,200 miles last fiscal year.
From December 1 through March 31, AHTN hosts Code Blue when the temperature plummets to 26 degrees or below including wind chill. When we can secure 18 volunteers for one Code Blue night, we will call a "Code Blue". Our homeless guests are very thankful that they can come out of the freezing cold for a warm night at a church. During these four months we are running both missions at the same time. Our volunteers worked 2,736 hours last fiscal year.
AHTN provides transportation to and from the Code Blue host church, a cot, sleeping bag, sheet, blanket and pillow and the volunteers. The host church provides the space, a coordinator, dinner and breakfast. A cot is not a home. #CotsDontCount
